The New Black Eagle Jazz Band
Massachusetts

Formed in 1971, and playing countless venues in North America and Europe, the band is making its first Connecticut appearance. The key ingredient in all the Black Eagles music is soulful quality. Relying on a powerful sense of dynamics, dramatic ensemble interplay and driving rhythm, the band ranges over the entire emotional spectrum from hushed intimacy to brawling uproariousness, with stops at every point in between. Each of the seven members of the group has a strong musical personality, which can be expressed either individually, or as one voice of the rich and varied ensemble choruses the Black Eagles are famed for. They draw their repertoire from the entire spectrum of New Orleans music.
