Neville Dickie
England
From playing in the working men's club of the North of England, Neville headed for London. In 1968 he began broadcasts on B.B.C.Radio 2, becoming one of the most popular pianists in England. He has entertained around the world from Europe to the Far East.
His style is described as "showing off before the company," it demands machine-gun speed, flashy fingering and a powerful, accurate left hand. - his left hand speed and total accuracy will take your breath away. Acclaimed on both sides of the Atlantic for his brilliant Waller style playing, Neville is also a Boogie and Ragtime exponent, but Stride remains his forte. Dick Neeld of The Jersey Jazz states "It's one thing for some to love to listen to "Fats" Waller, the Lion, the Lamb, Jelly, and other classical pianists; but it's another by a mile for someone to play all those individual styles. Neville Dickie is that kind of pianist, and capable of doing it phenomenally well."
