Peter Eckland Trio
New York

Peter plays cornet and composes in a unique style that mixes hot jazz of 20's and 30's with other American music. There are about 30 jazz albums now available in which he appears as a sideman, including the Black Bay Ramblers, plus his own recordings and CD's. His cornet and trumpet can be heard in the films "Fried Green Tomatoes", "Eight Men Out", and "King of the Gypsies." While the subject of a chapter in jazz critic Chip Deffaa's "Traditionalist and Revivalists," he is the author of "Louis Armstrong: Great Trumpet Solos" & "Bix Beiderbeck: Great Cornet Solos."

Marty is one of the top rhythm guitarists in jazz today, as well as an exciting chord soloist on acoustic guitar. He also has a reputation for being one of jazz music's great comedians, with his spontaneous monologues. He has played the classic jazz scene with Dick Wellstood, Joe Muryani, Dick Sudhalter, and Dick Hyman. He has several delightful recordings with Jazzology and Stomp Off. Marty founded The Orphan Newboys in 1988.

Vince, founder of the New Orleans Nighthawks, is an excellent musician in his own right, rounds out the trio with his own trio of instruments - tuba, string bass, and bass saxophone.
